Default Cleaning Contrast Steering Wheel Stitching

I have an IS F with the blue stiching on the leather wheel and after some use the stiching is dirty. I was hoping someone here has a recommendation on what I should use to get it back to blue without damaging the leather on the steering wheel.

havent tried it, but a LITTLE warm water and a terry cloth towel should help a lot, but you should be able to use a mr. clean magic eraser without worry. i'd confirm on a remote patch of leather first though.

Dont use the mr. clean magic eraser on leather. Get some Leather Masters cleaner and protectant.

The Magic Eraser is an abrasive so that might not be a good idea for leather. Warm water and a terry cloth is worth a shot though.

given that old lexus leather at least has a polyurethane coating, and people on this forum and others have been using it for years, i would say its rather safe

and fyi it isnt any more abrasive than a normal sponge.

A normal wet sponge on my semi gloss painted wall does not leave it dull, the wet Magic eraser does . Thanks for the tip though.

The magic eraser will eventually remove the coating on the leather if used enough. Wouldnt use it unless you plan on refinishing the leather.

that's generally thepoint, you clean off the layer of crap, preserving the poly top coat giving you a better surface to refinish.

Just so we're clear this is an 08 ISF, there is no crap to clear off (apart from dirt) and I don't need or want to refinish the wheel, just clean it. Specifically get the blue thread on the wheel back to a way it looked new.

At any rate, I bought some Blue Magic leather cleaner and used a microfiber and some elbow grease and got it looking like new again. Thanks for the advice given it's much appreciated.

don't use a magic eraser. it's like a very fine sandpaper. it slowly removes the synthetic coating on top of your leather.

Good to hear you got it clean again. In the future, you can use a toothbrush along with your cleaner. I've used them for years on detailing things such as seat stitching, etc, and they do a great job.
