Had someone , with a guy while cutting grass/lawn tractor , hit my back window . with debris, and stones , blew it out and scratches on side of 2004 GX 470 ,
do I go to a local auto /body repair or Toyota Body shop ,
Lexus dealer is 187 miles away , any suggestions, and believe me glass is everywhere up to the back front seat ..
will the paint job be a match ?

Man what bad luck, you can get quality body work done by non-factory body shops. You just really need to do some research. On the other hand, not all dealers do great work, i had a friend who replaced her front IS250 bumper with a stock one and had the dealer paint it. It's been about 2 years, and the paint is cracking.

bad is lukc is not the word either , now I find the inside panel of the cargo is chipped and scratched ,
I had some nicks and painting done at the dealer shop and they matched prefect , a few years ago ,
just the local guy had suggested I take it a Toyota or Lexus , so I'm thinking he's not sure about the matching the paint ,
just hate to think about a bad job done , by the way not my cost either ..

Call the insurance company, they should take care of it. A lot of car dealers don't do their own paint repair, they contract it out to local shops to do the work and charge you an arm and a leg, which is why you should shop around too. Word of mouth is your best defense when choosing a shop, also try to ask for pictures of their work.
What color is your car? Pearl would be the hardest to match, but as long as they blend the new paint in, it should look alright.
Panels on the other hand might need to be replaced. Talk to your insurance company.
