Default I am not impress with the body work at Sewell in Fort Work.

well last month, someone shoot a BB gun in the middle of my passenger front door. I filed the insurance claim, and bought the car to the dealer to fix it, which is at Sewell in Fort Worth. now I got the car back but notice something not right. the top half of the door (door has pin-stripes) is not smooth and shine, I can tell it was not wetsand and polish. the bottom half of the door is fine. compare the back door to the front door is totally different under sunlight or lights.... (I can tell the body shop painted only at the bb gun spot and blended the color within the door and clear coat the whole door, which was cover the pin-stripes too.) the color matching is ok. but the shining of the door is really bother me.

Should I come back and complaint for this?

also I got my rear bumper cover repaint and now the taillight is scratched, I can tell they did it when they polishing the bumper cover.

What's their policy for bodywork? If they give out some sort of satisfaction guarantee, I would definitely go back and have them redo this.

go back and point it out.

If it is in fact just short of a wetsand/buff then they shouldn't mind doing it, especially for one door.

Insist they fix it. Having just had my door and hood and front fender repainted, I had a discussion with the tech on why they couldn't just blend in the clear coat on a part of the door. He said where the old clearcoat meets the new, there will be a slight haze or fogginess - that most people wouldn't notice, but it's why they do a whole area of clearcoat instead of blending. Check out Grapevine Collision (owned by the local Toyota dealership), ask for James Kirby or Chris Houston - the manager. They did a great job for me with much attention to detail.Tell them the guy with the black LS460 sent you. They'll treat you great.

Painting is such a crap shoot, you never know unless you go in and ask to look at examples of freshly painted vehicles. I would say that 90%+ of the painters out there are sub-par and amateur. There is no license or certification to become a self proclaimed painter or do work for a dealership.

LS460 is a nice car, and I know if I were shopping for one and came across what you described I would simply walk away from you with no words spoken for wasting my time. I am amazed how many just accept mediocrity in this society, get in there and have it done right. You can also call your insurance company if the dealer becomes difficult.

I agree, most insurance policies guarantee have lifetime guarantee on repairs.

OP, stop bringing your car to stealerships for paint or collision repairs, find a shop that specialize in high end cars or rod shop if you expect top notch work
