Default Total Detail Package at the dealership

The Bredemann dealership that I go to has a total detail package for $190. It includes an engine degreaser, leather conditioning, shampooing carpets and minor paint touch up. It this reasonable?

It's a waste and they'll do more harm than good. My sister-in-law used to take it to Longo Lexus, and half the time the car is still dirty! The last and final time she took it there, they completely ruined multipule pieces of her window molding, and they eventually had to replace it after she complained. For $190, you are better off buying some quality car care products, a shopvac, and make sure it's done right by doing it yourself. If you can't do it yourself, you're going to shell out quite a bit more for a good professional.

Have you personally had a bad experience with Bredemen Lexus/Toyota?

Ask to look at a car they just detailed. Aside from the overall job they did, if you see / feel Armorall, run.

No, I have not taken my car there after the "work" done on my sister-in-law's RX. That's the reason why I actually wash and detail my car.

Every dealership operates slightly different from another, but to someone who doesn't know what a truly detailed car is, it wont make any difference at all. If it makes you happy, go for it

Just like eyezack said, if it makes you happy then go for it. But remember your forum vendors here in the Automotive Care & Detailing section, we're here to help out in your detailing and car care needs with the right products to use.
