Thumbs up 303 Aerospace Protectant

Can't say enough good about this product. I learned about it here and now use it on all of my cars. Its really kept my IS250 interior looking good, but the best job its done is on my Brothers 1983 Mercedes 300D. The rubber bumper covers looked pretty beat up, faded, just bad. I soaked them in 303 for a day, wiped it off and put a light coat on for good measure and now they don't look half bad. Any part of your car that is going to see significant sunlight should be protected, steering wheels especially.

I found the 303 at a boating supply store, it's worth it to call around if you care about the interior and exterior of your car.

You left the 303 soaked for a whole day? I think the instruction is spray and wipe Completely Dry. Or else you get some type of residue?

Yea, on a 1983 300D. I left it soaked for a day because it hadn't been well taken care of and on a 1983 267,000 mile car a little residue never hurt anyone. On my Lexus I wipe it dry

I purchased both the cleaner and protectant a while back and have yet to use it due to the cold winter. How exactly do you guys apply the protectant? Do you just spray the panels with it or do you spray some on a MF towel and use the soaked towel with the 303 solution to rub onto the interior surface?

I spray onto my towels. If I spray directly only to the panel, it's going to get into the fine texture/grain and I won't be able to wipe it off. Plus it leaves the area full of protectant while other areas will have less.

I need to get some of this stuff? I heard it works good for shining up tires too? How is the shine for those of you that have tried it on tires?

The shine is OK, not as good as a product meant for tire shining, but not bad.

I apply it to my towel and wipe where it is needed. For bigger areas like seats I spray my towel first, and a small amount onto the seat as well. Make sure to wipe dry.

I don't like the smell of 303. It smells funny.

I currently use 1Z einszett Vinyl Rubber Care and Protectant.

The 303 Aerospace Protectant is a great product that I use all over rubber, vinyl and plastic surfaces. It has strong UV protection and it leaves a rich look to any finish without the overly glossy appearance or feel. If you want to restore neglected trim try the Poorboy's World Trim Restorer, Chemical Guys Black on Black or the Black WOW Black WOW. All of them work great and provide a more long lasting finish to the surface.

it won't leave a brown tint on you tires if you use it often like some tire gels do

Oh, I see. I'll probably get some once I get some more money.

I like it shiny, but I hate that greasy look.

I've heard good things about Chemical Guys Black on Black. I may have to order some soon.

I hate that brown tint from the foam and gel tire shines. I always have to use degreaser to get rid of it. I'll give it a shot on my tires though.
