Well I decided to clay and Polish my stove today. I clayed it first then used a cut compound and then a finishing polish on my porter cable 7424XP. While it looks better and I got alot of the gunk off that was caked on the glass I could not get the fine scratches to go away for some reason.

Not sure if it would help or not, but the people who installed my clear bra through the dealer on my former White RX tols me if dirt built up along the edge of the clearbra, to use a qtip with some alcohol on it and run it along the edge to clean that up. Just a thought.

Today I attempted to polish my HKS exhaust with Optimum Metal Polish and a Tangerine pad.
Before:
Not too shabby for an Amatuer, got most of the scratches out
After:
Looks like it cost me a Tangerine pad. It turned it completely black!
Whoops!

So I bought these Surbuf Pads after seeing a review on these pads. If you are looking for amazing paint correction or just a more aggressive pad this is the pad for you. BTW I learned today if you are using Isopropyl Alcohol to keep it a way from the rubber linings on the outside of your car. IPA makes your rubber linings look like crap.

Started with some imperfections around the car that I could not get off with just a yellow pad which is considered a pretty aggressive pad.

Before: These two were in the same area. After passing the Surbuf pad and M105 they were gone

Decided to do my whole roof and hood with Surbuf pad with M105 then finished it off with M205 and a finishing pad. Here are the results:
And all done after BFWD Sealant added:

I feel you man. Detailing is such a tedious event. I can't remember the last time I did a "quick" detail. I have spent days on them just to get the perfect shine. Its exhausting. I make it a point to not do it more than 2 times a year just because everytime I do it, my arms get sore from using the porter cable and my back aches too from bending over. But nonetheless you have some quality work there and deserve a beer or two . Have you ever been to detailingworld.com?
