Help! The stray cat at work decided to 'mark' my car. I drove home with windows open and the fan off to keep the stink from clinging to the interior.
My windows are rarely open. My car is 7 years old and still smells like new. My friend got in the car last month and was shocked that it still smelled new.
I'm changing the cabin filter, it's due to be changed anyway. I wiped the hood, vent area with Mequiar's quick detailer but it still smells.
How do I get the cat smell off?
Also . . .
What do you guys use to keep cats from the hood of your cars? The Hartz Keep Off spray that I used worked wonders but is not available anymore.
The spray was easy since my car is parked in a carport.
Thanks

As for keeping cats off the hood, I'm sure you'll get some creative answers, LOL. I don't usually have a problem with it, but occasionally I see critter marks. I usually keep the alarm at a high level, though, so they beat feet when they set it off.

you probably need to spray something into the vents (they have specific products for that as opposed to any liquid air freshener) as anything inside the car is just going to be a coverup.
Pour some water on the hood where you think the cat did his/her business then watch where it goes... may need to open the hood to get to the other side of the air intake where the stuff must have drained to...
and if it has been a while since it was discovered, it may have pooled somewhere then dried, making it almost like your very own urinal puck. Might need to pour some hot (not boiling) water down that way (from outside the car) to help dissolve anything that might be down there...
that's all I can think of other than a fogger... good luck
