"Waves" on Obsidian paint?

"Waves" on Obsidian paint?
So I just washed my Obsidian IS for the first time since I bought it, and along with tons of swirl marks noticed these "waves" in the black paint. Its as if someone buffed the car with a polisher but failed.
I tried taking pictures but they won't show, though I'm sure detailers will know what I'm talking about. What are these "waves", what are they caused by, and how do I correct this problem?
Thanks!

that would be "holograming"
number of reasons that could cause it; dry buffing, improper technique, speed etc. google would give u more info. best way to correct it now is to buff it or get someone to buff it for ya. eyezack is in socal and he does pretty good detailing work.

that is the special dealer installed hologram option. Black cars look great but they are high maintenance. Never let the dealer wash your car, or detail it for you. They put high speed rotaries into the hands of ppl that have no business using them and they use glazes on the cars which hide all the problems with the paint. First time you go to wash it though, hologram and swirl city.
You'll need a buffer to get those marks out.

It's the misuse or improperer use of a rotary polisher at the dealer or last owner. If you want to remove them it's no problem with a Porter Cable 7424XP with the right chemicals and pads and you can remove them yourself and bring the shine back and your car will thank you for it. Its amazing how some detailers think they are actually good. Same thing happened to my black car. Ill admit the detailer did remove alot of fine scratches that the previous owner left behind. But as far as buffer trails like that they are all over the car. I just remember the owner of the place telling me bow amazing his detailer was, yeah ok buddy, lol.

Holograms are interesting to look at but never fun to own. Remove them asap so you wont be those other drivers on the road with them. If you need a filler item to use, we could suggest some but its def a short term fix
