Don't overlook the obvious solution, Arm&Hammer. People have been using this product for years to eliminate unwanted odors. For the car, there are two approaches that work well; first, sprinkle A&H into the carpet and any cloth upholstery and brush it around. Let it set for an hour or longer and then vacuum it out. Second, they make packages that open but keep the A&H product encased in the package. Pop a couple of these under your seats for a week or so and viola, no more odors.

This approach doesn't just mask the bad odors it removes them.
