Default Griot's Polish & Buffer

Hello - I just bought a 93 LS400 for my wife and it has a number of scratches. some are deep. The maguires scratch X doesn't make any effect at all. So I have been reading in the Griot's catalog about their orbital buffer from porter cable and their series of 3 grades of machine polish. Has anybody used these products? Any opinion? My wifes car looks real nice until you get close. I think the original owner used to chop wood on the hood and trunk of this car between trips to mcdonalds to spill in the carpet (I got a real good price).

ANy help, ideas, suggestions would be most appreciated.

I haven't used Griot's polishes. They list the Porter Cable 7424 for $199.95...$199.95 for a Porter Cable 7424? I don't think so...Buy it from Coastal (See below). You can buy all the Griot's polish and pads you'll need with the $80 you'll save on the PC 7424.

Thumbs up Good Stuff

Frank - I use all the Griot's polishes on my black GS & find that they work well. BTW - I got my P/C polisher from Home Depot on sale for $40 less than with Griots. I haven't hurt the paint job yet but in truth, I don't find the Polish 1 much more abrasive than the Polish 3. My paint's still relatively decent so I polish every 3 months or so & follow up with Zaino ( Z-5 then Z-3 ). It's not scratch free but close enough for a daily driver. If you're not experienced with buffers then the P/C & Griot's products are a good choice as they're designed for the neophyte user & it's tough to screw anything up like U could do using professional ( oil based ) polishes. Cleanup's easy as well.
