Hood is sunburnt!!

Hood is sunburnt!!
Can someone please help me out My hood seems ot be the only part of my paint that is effected. It is basically getting faded and looks like its white instead of blue in some patches. does anyone have anysuggestions I heard that a good wax will help and I even heard of using rubbing compound if anyone has anything please help

hi,
if it is white, it might be faded/chipped paint, as u said. the BEST thing you could do right now or this weekend is the basic:
1)wash with dishwashing liquid and nice, fluffy sponge
2)either clay bar or other product that will clean surface defects
3)polish
4)wax
i would recommend meguiars products. if you have done this before, the professional line is better. (www.meguiars.com is useful). their stuff is at target, checker/shucks/kragen, pep boys, etc. when waxing, if you have time, try to get at least 2 coats of wax on the hood, trunk lid, and roof. they tend to "age" quicker. The polishing is what really creates vibrant gloss and brings your faded paint back to life, so work on step 2 and 3 as much as possible. the wax is something that seals it, although some will disagree. hope that helps.

Ill get pics soon
its already dark so pics wont be much help now but if you would check back tommorow I should have some pics of the hood up
by the way thanks for the advice I was thinking that would help I guess it will just take alot of elbow grease
