How to remove road tar safely?
I have thousands of road tar dots stuck on all over the car. I passed through the construction zone and didn't realize it until I arrived home. It's like someone dumps a bucket of sand on top of the car except they're gluey and sticky. I tried to remove couple spots and I can feel the fine sands on my fingers.
So far from what I've gathered is kerosene, 3M or Stoner Bugs Tar Remover, gasoline (Probably the last resort), or distilled mineral spirits. I'm hoping a good solution to just spray on, let it soak and hose them off. I'm trying to avoid wiping or scrubbing.
Had anyone successfully removed them without scratching / damaging the paint?
Thanks,
TP.

Take a bucket of HOT WATER mixed with a little car soap and a MF Towel and wipe off the tar. Hot water will cut tar big time. I learned this trick from a Nissan Titan forum. It works!

3M General Adhesive Remover....
You can buy it locally to avoid paying shipping. Ace has them.
Edit: This stuff is paint safe... I know Phil at Detailers Domain use this stuff along with a bunch of other top detailers around the world. It's alot cheaper than getting a "boutique" tar remover from someone like Autoglym or Carpro TarX. I think 32oz is like $15 or so.... and trust me those 32 ounces will last a long time.
Just take a nice clean microfiber towel, put a little of the 3M on there and the tar will be removed like magic... no waiting, no hard rubbing, and really no cleanup afterwards because this stuff dissolves instantly after you wipe the tar off.

Gasoline will eat through it without damaging the paint. When i used to work for the Hankook Drift team, we used to wipe down one of our race cars with C16 (114 Octane) Race gas, it works wonders but smells ahaha.
