Anyone attempt to explain what is causing the yellowing? Or is it outlined in the service bulletin?

I read on the forums that it had something to do with the special type of enamel that was used at the factory for the lower plastic panels and bumpers. My dealer told me that the yellowing gets worse over time and starts to look like smokers teeth. I was told that UV light and other elements cause the problem. I do not know what the TSB states but from what I understand it has a new paint code. The pearl white is a difficult color to match, I think that is why Lexus does not offer the pearl anymore. Just a metallic from what I understand.

Killing me to hear this. Really don't want to have to repaint the car.

I was told by the guy who painted my satellite antenna that the white pearl actually has crystals of some sort in it, as opposed to metal flakes. Probably tougher to match the crystals than it is to match metal flakes, I guess.

I dropped my GS off this morning at the dealer and should have it back by the end of the week, I hope. I will followup and let you know how it turned out. They were not sure if they were going to do the bumpers or not !!

I just picked up my car today from the dealer and it looks great. The paintwork is awsome, no dirt, overspray, or orange peel. Lexus paid for all the side moldings and trim to be refinished along with the front and rear bumpers. No more yellowing !!!
