I cleaned the carpet in the 98 LS400 in mid-september, but I haven't really had the chance to post them up, and I didn't really become a member until this week after years of trolling.
A few weeks prior I leatheriqued the leather and cleaned the door panels, dash, ect with Aerospace 303. This car is pretty much set until next year.
The interior of the LS got really bad in august/September because my brother drove it to volunteer at the renaissance festival and to get there you have to drive on a gravel/dirt road, plus walking on dirt all day is bound to bring some into the car.
This is what I had to work with:

I also cleaned the seat belts by soaking them in a bucket of diluted simple green for 30 min and then briefly cleaning them with a brush:

I cleaned the floor mats as well, and even after several cleanings, the water was still brown. They look better but since they're grey they handle dirt really well.
Thanks for looking.

Thanks, Blue coral is just for the spots before the deep cleaning. I used the Bissel Big Green cleaning machine and used a solution of 2 gallons water with 1.5-2 cups of cleaning solution-the standard Bissel solution. After going over everything once, I applied a concentrated solution on the trouble spots (sides/tunnel) and rubbed green lava soap bar on the carpet, then scrubbed with a brush and then vacuumed with the bissel
See quote by EXE.UCF. I got the idea to use simple green from here.
Thanks

Thanks.
I strictly use it only for leather. For the dash, and other plastic/vinyl I use just use pristine clean and the brush and then I follow through with Aerospace 303 for UV protection.
About a cup of simple green will do for all the seatbelts. The key is letting the belts soak long enough so that when you use the brush you won't have to spend a lot of time scrubbing the belts. Also make sure you scrub along the length of the belt, otherwise if you're using a strong brush it could damage some of the threads in the belt.
For cleaning the seats, I just followed leatherique's guide from their site.
and this from the acura forum.
Here's a before/after look from the rear seat of the LS400 2 years ago when I leatheriqued it for the first time.

The seats are much softer and cleaner now. I test drove a 98 LS400 last year and you can clearly feel the difference between leather that's been maintained and one that is not.
A lot of people say that just cleaning is enough, but as these cars get older it's necessary to use something that conditions so the seats stay soft and don't crack excessively.
