Default Door still cover scratches

Just wondering if you guys have any recommendations for the scratches on the plastic door sill covers from normal use?? There are scuff marks and light scratches from normal wear and tear.

Also, there are scuff marks and scratches on the door. Especially the cover for the speakers.

What do you guys do to try to get it cleaner looking? Thanks.

Check the detailing section, some very helpful tips there.

What's a door still?

You mean door "sill"? or are you talking about the pillars?

Just talking about the scratches that show up from getting in and out of the car. The glove box, side of the center console, speaker area of the door, and any other plastic part of the car.

Can anything get out the scratches or at least hide them better so they are not as visible. Thanks.

Any input besides cleaner? I have used Meg's quick interior detailer and doesn't really do anything to cover or blend the scratches.

if you scratch plastic deep enough so that your finger nail catches the scratch as you run your fingers through it, no quick detailer or cleaner in the world will help you.

I mean the ones on my glove box are deep like that but since I bought the car, with consistant meguairs useage, the scratches are much much much less noticable. I know paint would look dumb to cover them. though im not exactly proud to state this but......if that sort of thing were to happen in a customers car (depending on the gradient texture and material of the dash), if you heat it up with a heat gun or blow dryer and use a latex glove, some rubbing alc, and a thumb, you may be able to make it appear like new again.

I know it wouldnt work on my glove box due to the texture but maybe on the door sills

Cool

Assuming that most of the scuffs on the sill are from shoes, the majority should be simply rubber coming off the soles. That said, a good scrub brush that has stiff bristles and some Goo Gone should do the trick. Be very careful not to use too much on the speaker grills, as you don't want it getting onto the speaker itself, and don't scrub so hard as to remove the texture or put pressure on the panel and break it.

After that, a good vinyl protectant will assist with keeping them much easier to clean - and taking some care getting in and out wouldn't hurt, either. Do you kick the door open regularly? I've not found it very easy to get my foot near the speaker areas unless I'm trying...

Meguiar's PlastX is excellent for fine scratches, yellowing plastic and cleaning cloudiness and oxidation from clear plastic and lenses.
