I wash it once or twice a month at a self service place, but sometimes I wash at home.

I wash my RX350 at least once a week. I use the two bucket method with Meguire's soap. Bumpers, outside mirrors and bottom first, then wheels. Then empty and rinse bucket and with new soap and water,I wash entire car. Rinse. If its real sunny out and hot,I rinse several times to keep the soap from drying.Blow Dry with my leaf blower. Then windows are done with Stoners Invisible Glass. Then tires and rims are done with windex and tire gloss. Then after inspection of exterior and cleaning of interior, sit under shade tree with Sam Adams and admire!

Just want to share what I learned about car wash with you...

Always wash with cold water when the car is cold. This way the clearcoat is less likely to get hairline scratch. Wax only when the car is cold as well.

It's like half and half for me but mainly @ home. I go to this really good car wash place about 20 minutes from me to have the car cleaned and detailed as well. In between the detailing, I'll wash it myself (or full service car wash) and then wax it @ home. I've tried so many wax products over the years and so far, that Dupont stuff is good. The Turtle Wax ICE finishes the job.

I prefer to wash my car myself and I usually do, but when it's too cold out I've got no choice but to take it somewhere. When I take it somewhere, it goes to the fabulous Cuban guys; they're close enough to my house that I can get home again w.o getting my lex dirty (if I take side streets and don't go fast) and they do a spectacular job for $20, almost as good a job as I would do my self.

I wash mine at home under a shade. It is then dried and detailed as needed.
I don't have a set schedule for the cleaning and do it on an as needed basis.

Get yourself Optimum No Rinse. No water spots, since you're wiping off the water in the end. you're only using about 2 gallons of water in a bucket

Hehe My bottle will be arriving tommorrow...
Its worth the $18, when you calculate how much water you really use washing 4 cars/2 times a month

My dealership provides a lifetime free carwash service, so I bring it over there every two weeks. Plus, its always nice to wait in their lounge while having a free deli sandwich and soda Yeah, I'm getting too spoiled with a fine Lexus service!!!
