Default HELP! Clearcoat Oxidation Repair

Hey Guys,

I have had my Lexus SC300 for quite a bit of years and the age is beginning to show. There are signs of what appears to be oxidation on the roof. I see very light "hazing" on the other side of the roof, the trunk, and the hood. Is there anyway to cure this before it gets worse? With the spot that is already visible, what can be done to cure this? Will a good detail work? DO I have to repaint the areas? or the whole car? Advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can fix that by wet sanding the area with 12,000 grit sand paper which is really really fine. After you wetsand, use compound cut and machine buff/polish it.

That actually appears to be the beginning stage of CC failure. In fact, it looks identical to my ES prior to its complete flaking/looking bad. I would recommend saving your money for a repaint in the future and just wax/glaze to try to prevent it from getting worse

If I am correct in my judgement, I'd recommend against any type of sanding or polishing since it'll only accelerate the failure. You could always give it a shot, but it'll only return
