Default Engine bay covers detailing

The engine bay covers on my recently purchased 2002 LS 430 are like show room new. The PO did an excellent job at all maintenance. I want the engine bay covers to remain as new and not sure what to use. I have read the threads on degreasing, cleaning, etc but havent seen a lot on protecting the engine cover, radiator cover , hoses ad other plastic or vinyl parts. What does everyone recommend? Has anyone used Armorall?

I use UQW (Meg's D156) these days and I use it on everything. It dries hard so does not attract dirt and get grimy. Nice luster too. Subsequent cleaning with a damp MF is all that is needed for months afterward.

Thanks Jim,

Do you know how this is marketed in the stores? Should I look for UQW or D156?

Thanks again.

You can find Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax (UQW) at most auto supply stores as well as most Target and Walmart stores and some of our forum vendors. I use a lot of this so I buy it as Synthetic Xpress Spray Wax from Meguiar's Detailer Line (D156). I typically watch for discount offers along with free shipping from vendors and take advantage of the lower price for a bulk purchase.

I use PERL - It comes in concentrate so it last a long time plus you can mix it in different strengths depending on what you want to do. Works great on the tires and trim as well.

I think Adam's Super VRT would be good for this application. Haven't used it, but ordered some to try. Water repellent and dry to the touch, so it won't attract dust.
