Default RainX or Wax?

So raining season is back again and I've been meaning to seek some opinions/experiences from those of you who've used wax over rainX on the windshields. I've always used rainX for my window, however I don't feel like it works that well. I have not try wax yet, any pros and cons? Thanks in advance.

I personally haven't tried RainX or wax on my windshield (did use meguiars ultimate Quik wax though). I use Invisible glass with Rain Repellent, it does work great and its a glass cleaner at the same time. I usually apply it after every car wash (weekly) and it leaves the windows "invisible" while having the rain repellent feature. You should also consider Aquapell, it is like RainX except it is easier to apply and have better results, many people prefer it over RainX.

I like Meg's UQW (D156). It is much easier to use than RainX and it doesn't leave any streaks. I use it on the whole exterior of the vehicle, paint, trim, wheels and glass after very wash. The water repellence is like RainX but only lasts for a few weeks. That is no issue for me as I wash my car often.

One thing I used to notice with RainX was wiper chatter. My wipers didn't like the stuff on the glass.

Like the other posters, I stopped using RainX years ago due to streaking. I switched to Aquapel on my rides some years ago. It goes on easily with it's built-in individual applicator, seems to last longer and does a good job for me.

I've always been told not to ever use wax or any sealant with gloss enhancers on windshield.

Use a regular sealant like BFWD or a specific glass sealant like Wolf's Glass Guard on windows. Very hard to beat.

I generally use a mix of stuff to ensure that it doesn't do anything weird to my wipers. I take Autoglym Glass Polish to polish the glass to remove contaminants and impurities that claying doesn't (white pad will show quite a bit of impurities). Then I take a 50/50 solution of alcohol and water to remove any more oils. For protection I just use an application of Aquapel. That usually does the trick for quite some time

I use RainX but i don't understand why ppl are saying 'hard to apply' ... i spray rainx on a mf towel and wipe it on my glass then i get a spray bottle of water and just sprinkle some drops on, then get a clean mf towel and it buffs clear n easy~
