Default Cleaning exhaust tips, possible?

Hi there,

My exhaust tips (both of them) on my IS250 appear to have some rust-like substance on them, is it possible to clear it and make it all nice and shiny again?

Thanks!

Use #0000 steel wool and some metal polish, rub it until most of the "rust substances" are out then buff clean with a microfiber towel.

That meguiars metal polish is no joke! I thought there was no return in my exhaust tips until I used the wool and metal polish. It looks brand spankin new now! Good luck!

Glad to hear it is not over... I will check it out.

Any recommended brands on top of Meguiar's? I may not have access to that product.

Autoglym, black magic, mothers... Etc. basically any metal polish for cars should work, just make sure they are safe to use on exhaust tips.

I use Simichrome to polish anything... from exhausts to wheel lips. Works the best, and its about 15$ from ebay.

Thanks for all the recommendations, I saw Nevr-Dull Magic Wadding Polish for $10, does it come with the steel wool? Or would I still need the dry cloth + steel wool on top of the polish?

Amazon Amazon

^ Order it online or find it a local Walmart or Autoparts store.

Been using it for years!
It works. Really well. I got a set of S2K AP2 tips that were in really bad condition and was able to restore them fully with these too.
All you need is a rag, microfiber and some elbow grease and you will be good to go

Canadians do not get most Amazon.COM items shipped to Canada and usually if Amazon.CA carries it, the mark-up usually kills the savings.

I never use .CA, always .COM... For books and such over the years. Always awesome and 'super saver shipping' is still free for most purchases...

Look into it... I've bought hundreds in books from them which were twice as much on .ca or at my University book store.

Everything car-related thus far has been 'not able to ship to a Canadian address', I too ordered a few books from .COM though.
