Default Safest way to remove rail dust?

I've see threads on IronX and Iron Cut vs Claying... but what have you guys tried? I'm thinking about buying some IronX but the smell I hear people talk about scares me, and I think claying just shaves it right?

You should go ahead and clay it and follow up with Iron X by CarPro. You paint with be clean after this.

The safest, quickest, and perhaps the coolest way of removing rail dust, brake dust, and any other iron contamination is with a deironizing product.

Some really great choices are:

IronX

Iron Cut

Wolf's Decon

Can't go wrong with either one. Of course, clay bar works also, it's just more time consuming and not as fun.

Yeah I think I'll give IronX a try - I'm fine with claying, but I can see white dots on my black car still....

My steps when removing rail dust are as follows:
-IronX gel
-Riccardo Clay
-IronX spray

Clay does in fact shave off layers of the contaminants. Its based off friction pretty much, which is why you have scratches if using an aggressive clay bar. My steps are the way they are to ensure that all contaminants are off the car. IronX spray pretty much confirms the removal of all iron particles for myself
