Default Pressure Washers (Karcher)

Hey guys, what do you guys think about the Karcher brand pressure washers, the electric ones. Any of you guys use them? good experiences? bad experiences? Breaks easily, only lasts a few months? I need some feed back please I'm looking into buying one soon before summer ends, anything you know about them would be great! Thanks!

Well i was looking all weekend and read reviews on the Karcher and some came back good and bad.. I've been wanting a pressure washer for a long time and finally settled on this from Amazon...

Did the free trial of Amazon Prime and got free 2 day shipping.. I just need something for the driveway once or twice a year and i need to prep my garage floor for painting...

i hope this is a good one..

Amazon Amazon

Hope this helps a little... I looked at Home Depot also and the reviews were not good

I have a Karcher going on its 4th year. I only have need for it 2-3 times a year, so the electric version is just fine for my purposes. It's certainly not as robust as the more professional gas powered varieties, and I would not put it through daily or weekly use as some may need to, but it is great for blowing off patios and gutters once a year. Key challenge is the pressure hose is rather stiff, so I always end up getting things tangled between the hose on the Karcher, the water hose, and electrical cord -- I expect a certain amount of cursing will be required each time I bring it out. Other than that, it's good for my purpose.

I have been looking into pressure washers too and have read that induction motors last longer than the standard universal motor used in the cheaper washers.

Lowes carries one for $189 by Greenworks that gets good reviews. They don't seem to have it up here in Canada though so I'm currently looking at a Karcher from Costco for about $199

I've gone through my share of them. The low cost electrics are all made in China and the quality is hit or miss. Some have lasted for a year or two but many never made it past a year. The reviews submitted by owners are not reassuring. I'd suggest that you look to purchase a model along with an extended warranty. My current model (Husky 2000S) is 2 years old and is still running. The one before (PowerWasher 1800) was DOA broken GFI and leaking pump. The one before that (Black Cat) lasted exactly a year and was recalled for counterfeit GFI . Sadly the manufacturers warranty is not worth the paper it is printed on. I chose to buy a 3 year replacement extended warranty with my last model. That extended warranty was $35, IIRC.

I don't use my PW all that often and it is in storage in the colder months. I like the concept of the electric as there is no gasoline engine to maintain (drain gas, change oil, etc.) but the under $300 electric models are a crap shoot, IMO.

My electric one is still going strong after a few years. I use it every 2 weeks. The only complaint I have is that the variable wand it comes with isn't too great. I might buy the one we have at our dealership since I've gotten used to its power haha. Snow Foaming would be even more awesome at its adjustable 2200psi rate

Should be fine I guess. With low tier pressure washers, there can only be so much different I'm guessing

That is the Gilmore Foam Gun. Completely different from a proper Cannon

On a side note, found out the one at work is a super heavy duty one that requires a breaker and whatnot. So much for that!

What do you guys think about the Karcher 1600PSI Pressure washer? It's at a decent price, but I just want to know how it'll hold up for the future.
