Default Meguiar's 6" DA Microfiber Correction System Kit

I recently bought this http://www.meguiars.com/en/professio...-system-kit-6/

I also bought the Meguiar's DA polisher separate http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotiv...tion-polisher/ -- much cheaper than buying the bundle at Amazon.

I tried this system on my Lexus LS400 over the weekend (lots of swirl marks on it) and it worked great. I'd say 75% of the heavy swirl marks are gone. I think I need to apply more pressure on the DA to completely get rid of the swirl marks. That was my first time using it so I was afraid to damage the paint. I will try it again before I store the LS400 for the winter.

Any experience on this Meguiars system?

Form the videos I've seen on youtube, guys pressing really hard on the DA with no paint damage which is amazing since you can never do that with a rotary polisher.

And If I need a DA sander this will also come in handy.

By the way, here's a detail shop local to me and this is what he charges people to get rid of swirl marks -- its super outrageous if you ask me. I accomplished pretty much the same results using the Meguiar's system. I sure I will even have better results once I have more experience under my belt.

any pictures of the outcome?

i've done some detailing in the past but never on lexus paint. i noticed that lexus has great paint from the factory, very nice and thick. getting swirls out is straightforward but i am always careful buffing the bumper bits or anything painted over urethane or plastic. you are using a DA though so it's more forgiving vs an actual rotary.

FWIW, I think the 5" MF system works better than the 6". You may want to keep that in mind.

I've done lots of newer Lexus, Infinity, BMW and Caddys with the MF system and their paint seems to love the microfiber polishing system.

I use this regularly as well. I also agree 5 inch system works a bit better then 6 inch. To get optimum results though make sure you frequently clean the pad . Use both pads included in the kit though when doing the whole car . I use up to 4 for the entire car just to ensure my pads are free from any debris plus ensures they will be effective .

No doubt. I cleaned the pad with compressed air after I was done with each panel.

As mentioned above the Meguiar's DA Microfiber Correction Kit 5" have been a bit more helpful. Most detailers can get great results with this kit on their first try but different finishes will react differently, some are more prone to hazing. I'm happy that you didn't notice any hazing with this detail.

Lustr Auto Detail is a premium detailing shop, Ivan runs a great business there. They will ensure you get outstanding results and they do a lot of other things included in those deals to add value. Certainly a lot of this can be achieved by those willing to invest their time and resources in to mastering proper techniques with quality products, but not everyone has the time or desire for this. Any quality service takes a lot of time so there are no short cuts when you want results closer to perfection!

Anyways we have quite a few articles on how to use this system in Ask a Pro Detailer Blog that I highly recommend you read:

Take some time to read more about this Megs Kit and let me know if you have any questions.

I also purchased the 5" Microfiber System a while back and used it on my LS400 with my pc 7424. My trunk had a lot of oxidation and swirls. Luckily i was able to remove most of it with this kit. All i need now is a little more experience to get it perfect

In regards to Lustrdetail, in the past Ivan was selected as one of the Top 9 Detailers in the US by Autoweek Magazine. The pros are paid by extensive experience and the ability to use the least abrasive method on what ever type of paint the car has. Megs D300 is a great product, but leaves a haze on softer paint when inspecting with LED light. So it's best to follow with a finishing polish. Detailing is not a one size fits all job. I have about 10 different compounds/polishes or pads.
