Default Floormats

Winter's almost here. I've purchased OEM Lexus All-Weather floormats. They fit perfectly in place of the OEM Carpet mats...or as in my case, over top of the OEM floormats.

Our dealer didn't want to sell us OEM all-weather mats, they had some cheap crap stuff they were peddaling. We bought the Weathertech mats & cargo liner - love 'em so far.

For the NE winter (snowed twice already) got those rubber winter mats that hold 1 1/2 quarts of water each. Got em front and back. The only saving grace I was able to order them in the same color as the carpet.

Not the easiest on the eye, but keeps the carpet clean and dry.

I use WeatherTech rubber mats. When I bought my 93 GS 300 three years ago, it came without floor mats, so I had to buy something to replace them. I wouldn't say they fit great, but overall I am very happy with them.

I went to a carpet dealer (several) and finally found a pretty good match for the dash colour, had that carpet custom cut and seamed. Over that custom carpet, I use the Lexus-RX clear plastic floor mats which I clean regularly and prevent any water from running off onto the underlying carpet or car floor carpet. THe plastic is easy to vacuum and keeping dust and grit out of the surrounding area. This looks great and is easy to clean.

In the summer i just use the regular carpet floor mats. i just bought a couple months ago the lexus all weather floor mats. They were like 50 bucks for the two front ones but well worth it.

I use custom cut 3M Nomad mats. Pretty amazing product. Kinda expensive though. Absorbas all kind of dirt and dust and is easy to just wash out and dry.

Talking In the Market

The dealer wanted to sell us the rubber ones but in the past I have purchased inexpensive oriental rugs to throw down on top of the OEM mats. I have my left over ones from my last car even though the color doesn't coordinate. I was surprized to see that they are too large for the most part! These rugs have been a great inexpensive solution to the winter crud. They run about $10 a piece and look sort of sexy. So I am in the market for some that fit. i was sort of disappointed in the quality of the OEM ones; really awfully think looking!

Default FLOORMAT COVERS

IN 4/2002, I BOUGHT A 2002 ES300. BEFORE TAKING DELIVERY, I CONTACTED MATPROTECTOR.COM AND ORDERED CUSTOM MADE MAT COVERS. CHECK IT OUT. MY MATS ARE STILL BRAND NEW AND WILL BE AS LONG AS THEY ARE IN THOSE COVERS........VERY REASONABLE TOO.
