So you're detailing it without knowing what to do? Kind of odd for the owner but maybe its just me
If you are unfamiliar with polishing then I wouldn't attempt it. There are a lot of people who take compounds to a paint and see it get cloudy before coming here to complain about the product or ask for help. I'd suggest only claying the paint and applying the wax. Assuming you are in NY, I'd recommend something that lasts a lot longer than the Sig Series of Pinnacle. They didn't last for more than 3 weeks on my daily

you pretty clearly are not well versed in how to detail a car...read up on some of the basics, there's plenty of threads in this forum and on the internet about detailing cars that will help you to avoid ruining the paint on that car.

Again, I reiterate my statement of not doing it unless you have a grasp of the basics. Start with the Meguiars Clay Kit. Its what I started with ages ago. If you must learn how to polish, do it on your own car instead of other peoples in case something goes wrong.
Essentially what I'm saying is: Clay then Wax and you're done

i found some car polish and i used it on the car and topped it off with pinnacle sig paste wax. i will be doing the car again before winter. this time claying it..i just applied it in a circular motion then buffed it with a clean microfiber cloth and then added the pinnacle paste wax. i will be doing my car the same way. i will post pics but i don't have pics of the before

Claybar kit is less than $20 at Walmart. But I have to agree with everyone else that has given you advice. You really shouldn't be working on someone else's car with out proper knowledge, correct products, and technique. Improper use of clay can really marr soft paint like a Lexus. Did you do any research about the polish used or did you just use the first thing you could find?
How is your wash technique? Do you use the 2 bucket method with grit guards? If not, are you atleast rinsing your wash mitt before going back in the soap bucket? If someone is damaging the paint during the wash process, the foundation for a detail is already missing.
Please, please don't take advice from your friends that work at a dealer or shop.
