I tried using Meguiar's Ultimate Polish but that didn't work. The scratches were made by the rough scrubber side of a sponge (not by me) ![Egads!](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/pat.gif)

Ultimate Polish is not aggressive enough. You probably need to step up to Ultimate Compound and use a microfiber covered foam pad. This will leave hazing. Remove the hazing with Ultimate Polish and a foam pad and you should be good. This repair would best be done with a machine so expect to expend a lot of elbow grease by hand.
Another alternative is to let a local detailer or paint shop correct it. This would only take a few minutes with a DA or rotary.
What was the individual trying to remove with that scrubber?
