Default Removing tar from polished stainless exhaust?

What would be the best way to remove little pieces of tar off of polished stainless mufflers and tubes? This is a joeZ exhaust I just picked up second hand. I would like to clean it up before installing.

Hit it with so "goo gone" or a spray on bug/tar/grease remover. let it soak for a few minutes then wipe it off. If it were me, I'd use some metal polish afterwards to bring out the shine since you'll have great access to the whole muffler and tip.

Thanks 2gkaizen for your input

(update)
Just finished clean up. Using the bug and tar remover and followed up with metal polish.
The bling has returned.

carb cleaner would strip off any sealants or waxes if there is any overspray

I've been looking at Tar X which is made by the same people from Iron X. Otherwise I've had luck with WD-40. but not on paint.

If you can't get the tar off after the above methods, you can wet sand the exhaust with some high grit (less abrasive) automotive sandpaper.

You can follow up with a nice metal polish afterwards.

I've done it on exhausts before.

If you have scratches you can use emory cloth followed up by increasing higher grit sandpaper followed up with a nice metal polish.
