Default Cleaning wheel wells

What's the proper way to clean the felt-like wheel wells in my 2013 RX? Just hose them down like I used to do metal wheel wells?

I have a long handled boars hair brush (not as stiff as many synthetics) that I use with remaining soapy water in my wash bucket after cleaning the rest of the car (to ensure I don't inadvertantly harm my finish, even though I have grit guards in my soap and rinse buckets). I do a good final rinse spray, then occasionally then let the wheel wells dry and spray in a couple of shots of Griot's Undercarriage spray (avoiding direct hits on the felt like material) which for years has done a fabulous job keeping things nice and black in my RXs.

Believe it or not, a stiff nylon wheel brush works great on it. It breaks down the leaves and gunk and "brushes" the felt at the same time. Just use your head and don't use too much pressure

I use some APC in one of my PW tanks. I let this dwell for a couple minutes then use car wash soap and foam them and agitate with a nylon brush before rinsing with the PW using a low pressure (~900psi) wand. A couple times a year I apply an acrylic coating to make cleaning easier. My RX is 9YO and the wells still look dark and clean.
