I read somewhere a long time ago that it leaves a grayish film behind. Probably don't want that on your windows or clear coat. Not sure how the texture would feel also.

From their website, it's available at Home Depot. I will NOT spray this on my car, but the other uses for this is very interesting.

It has been said that this product is not totally clear, it is in fact somewhat tinted. Also, there has been reports that simple all purpose cleaners will remove this product leaving the surface unprotected... it may be useful in some applications, but certainly not automotive.

Rain-X killer???
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZrjXSsfxMQ&feature=youtube_gdata_player
You guys think this will work on windshields and on all the windows?
Mainly the side windows and rear since they don't have wipers lol.
Think I'm gonna waste the $20 and try it out.

FWIW, if you guys want to try something other than Rain-X, especially if this new product isn't crystal clear -- I switched from using Rain-X to Aquapel a number of years ago. The latter, while seemingly more expensive, lasts far longer (months here in SoCal, depending somewhat on how much wipers are used) and is specifically designed for windshields, marine environments, etc. It comes in a single-use applicator that if I work quickly, can cover both the very large front and rear windows on my RX. There is no reason it wouldn't work on side windows as well. (Order multiples via eBay for the best pricing.)
