Swirl Marks On Black
Looking at a Black/Saddle and a Silver/Black. The Black looks great, but what about the spiderweb problem? Has anyone overcome it? I'm pretty fussy about how it will look

swirl marks will always appear on any colour and can be easily removed by polishing and waxing which should be done @ least twice a year. i guess the bottom line is what colour do you really like then you can start with the + and - to help you make the right decision. i've always owned darker coloured vehicles so for me i would go with the black saddle combo especially on a sc430 for the stealth and classy look...just my .02 cents.

black is just the hardest color to take care of. anything and everything will scratch it. go look at car shows and even they will have to have a few swirls. daddy-o and i spend countless hours taking care of ours, just to reduce, not eliminate. the silver will be so so much easier

Silver Rules!!
I have owned two black cars - a 1997 Nissan Maxima SE (still own this - wife drives it) and a 1996 Mercedes-Benz E320 and I have to confess that even though Black looks classy and stealthly, it is the hardest color to keep clean. I will never ever buy a black car again.
My daily driver is a Silver 99 GS400 and the difference is night and day. Even with salt on it from the roads, it still does not look dirty. Whereas the Maxima looks like crap one day after it is washed. The worst part is the swirl marks - cannot seem to get rid of them.
I'd say, go with Silver just for the lack of headaches and frustration.

I second that. Silver is the bomb. People hate on your car when it is clean. When I had a black car I always found werid shape scratches on my car. They come out real easy in silver.
