wifey surprised me today. i was admiring my green grass and the UPS truck pulled up. he came out with a box and i immediately saw the Sonax tape. so i opened her up in the garage and i was surprised because i kept saying to the wife that i need some SPNS... well i didn't really need it, i just wanted it.

she paid $28.00 from the Sonax site for 2 bottles of the wheel cleaner, SPNS and the app sponge. she's got a hug coming when she gets home. my bad for the blurry pic, but you get the message.

You're too cheap.
I can see how excited you were. Thanks for the post on TRFWW. Love the product. I stopped using Sonax Wheel Cleaner. I feel it's very toxic. Plus I clean mine so often that I don't have a need for a strong product like this.

strange because i wasn't happy with the tire shine i was using... so i thanked him and went to work on my tires. didn't know dupli-color had a tire shine.
IMO, it's pretty good. much better than the one i was using, no sling and dries super quick. not too shiny and wet looking. i sprayed it on a foam app and applied, didn't feel safe spraying it directly on the tire.

looks water based. Stay away from the older solvent based crap. It has hexane and its a carcinogen as well as the issue with sling and drying out the tire sidewall

I have a really nubee
question about what you said here:
I'm pretty sure I'll be picking up a new USB IS250c this weekend and cleaning the car is kinda new to me.
What do you exactly mean by "foam the car" or wheels? And, once I drive my new car home, should I use some kind of 'sealant' on the wheels? I've only "armoral'ed" my tires in the past & did nothing to the wheels but that's going change this weekend. So, what would you recommend I do on a brand new Lexus body (paint) and wheels? Thanks!
PS: I've read this thread twice, googled the products and figured out some acronyms, but still have trouble with choices.

I foam my wheels when I foam the car and that's all that's needed to clean them. Once you add the sealants, coatings etc. in the beginning when the car and wheels are new then you're good for a good while as far as not having to use wheel cleaners. The tires are a diff story.

Well I got a $100 Amazon gift card the other day as a gift from my credit card points... figured I'd use it to pick up some more detailing supplies...

^Some more Black All purpose microfiber... perfect for cleaning engine bays, exhaust tips, wheels, and those other dirty areas.

^Some more spray bottles... always need more spray bottles!

^I'm finally going to jump on the 'clay alternative' bandwagon. Thought I'd try out the Nanoskin Fine Grade Mitt. It has sounded the most appealing to me and I have been wanting to try it for a while.

i too, would like to try the nano skin scrub. i want to foam and wash the car with OCWC and OPC, then give her a light claying or maybe a paint cleaner Sonax NPT with me PC and a black finishing pad, just to refresh the OC. it would be very light cleaning, nothing aggressive. i actually tried 2 spray bottles from walmart... see through plastic with the ratio table on the side. $2.50 each and i'm quite impressed with them. i've got a few T-shirts from DD and wear them whenever i can. question... will the nano scrub mar or scratch the OC coating?
