What are car dealers prepping their cars with???
I would love to know what car dealers/detailers are using to hide fine scratches on their cars. I bought a Lexus 99 SC300 on 12/7 and my wife and I looked over the car real good and I noticed the paint to be in fairly good condition. Now I look at it and it has a fair amount of fine scratches on it. This is the second car I have purchased that this has happened to me. Does anyone have an idea about what are they putting on the car???
Thanks,

If they are buffing the car, they are probably using some glaze with hard fillers that will hide the swirls temporarily. There are also filler waxes that I suppose do the same thing to an extent.
I have only used a few 3M bodyshop glazes (forgot the model number), but your guess is as good as mine what exactly they are using. Their goal is to make their cars as nice looking as possible, as quickly and cheaply as possible to make a sale so obviously they won't be doing any lengthy paint correction type details.

^ what SC300 posted... glaze, filler wax. they also polish the car and leave holograms and even more scratches and marring on your paint. don't waste your time trying to get them to correct it because they will do even more damage to your paint. if you're OCD about your paint you should do it yourself of have it professionally detailed.
