Found a bunch of swirls on my black paint from the owner I believe. I don't own a buffer so does anyone know a good way to remove them by hand?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Instead of removing them (since you can't do this effectively w/o machine polishing), you might try hiding them, by using a wax that is known to have a lot of fillers. Meguiar's NXT 2.0 has a lot of fillers. I don't know how well this would work on a black car though.

Most vehicles that have not been polished in many years can benefit from a full detailing process that can take days to complete WITH machines at your disposal. Attempting to do it by hand will be both physically demanding and usually underwhelming in terms of overall results.
Let me ask you this...
Are you willing to make an investment in basic machine polishing tools and products? The few hundred dollars that you invest in proper DIY tools will save you A LOT of time and money in the long run. These products will allow you to maintain your vehicles to the highest standards for many years... for this reason I consider them an investment and a necessary part of owning a car if you do not plan on visiting a professional to take care of the work for you.
I'd be happy to recommend a good starter kit of supplies that will cover everything from proper washing and drying, decontamination, machine polishing, and sealant/wax.
One VERY IMPORTANT thing to remember is that your time spent polishing will be wasted if you do not learn to adopt proper washing and drying techniques. The vast majority of paint defects come from poor washing and drying technique and products.

The Porter Cable with foam pads is cheap and does a great job.

definitely invest in a machine or pay someone to professionally detail it for you, then keep it up. I buffed a car by hand a couple years ago because i didnt want to spend the money on a machine. by the time i had finished one panel, my arm was ready to fall off and I had spent an hour.
