Large Scratch On Door Form Flying Projectile
My daily drive on the "wonderful" stretch of I-75 in Macon casts stones, tree bark, etc onto my RX from large semi trucks. On my way out of Macon, through Atlanta, today I heard a loud BANG on the passenger side of my RX. Never heard that noise before, sounded like something hit the window.
Once I got home I saw what was hit - my front passenger door. As you can see something hit it quite hard and removed ALL the paint and even scraped clean some of the seet metal below
What I want to know is if there is anyone with experience having something like this repaired. It's not dented. I have already gone by a collision center and was quoted a rough estimate from just an explanation of the problem.

That spot should probably be sanded, filled, sanded, primed and painted. A quality shop should be able to feather that spot without having to paint the whole door.
If you want to take a stab at it...LANGKA, baby, LANGKA.

I thought about using the LANGKA stuff by just filling the spot with touch-up paint. It's worth a try if I keep getting quotes of $200~$300. Plus, there are a few spots on the door moldings that people use as stoppers for their doors in parking lots

No concerns with the Langka, but matching the metallic pearl paint and clearcoat. That can be a problem. FOrtunately, if you make a mistake, you can remove it with Langka.
