Does absolutely Red have a clear coat?
My body shop told me that basic colors,ie,red,black white do not have clear coat. Can anyone confirm/deny this?
I have an 03 SC 430 with Absolutely Red paint and was told I do NOT have a clear coat.
Any response please.

your shop is partially correct...ie, pre-00 GS blk has no clear coat; 01 and newer has clear coat
very simple test: when you wax the car, take a clean cotton towel/baby cloth diaper, gently wipe on the paint surface, if the towel has color transfer from the paint, then no clear coat
