They use special tools, rods mostly, that they can use to massage the dent out, through crevices, openings etc in the area they need to get to.
Some even drill holes in jambs and wheelwells to access the dent, then paint and plug the drilled hole with a rubber grommet. You always have to ask them not to do this if it bugs you, but it might preclude the removal of the ding too, because some dings/dents can't be accessed w/o drilling.

The dings I had were in my door, and they found a way to get at them without drilling.
The best part about this service IMO is ; no paint matching problems, and you get to keep your original paint. Cheaper than a repaint too. Hope this helps.

http://www.dentwizard.com/

I have had good luck with the paintless dent removal guys. I haven't used Dentwizard (used a local guy called "Alldent" when I bought my GS, it had 2 small dings) but i've heard good things about Dentwizard.

You could likely remove the scratch yourself with compound/polish, or ask the dent people if they can take it out, sometimes they do that too. Good luck.

Thumbs up dent removal

Go see Alex at Superior Dealer Services, he's a painless dent removal expert. He took care of my '03 GS (table spoon sized dent). Call them at 714-630-2286. Tell them Wayne with the gray GS sent you.

Save your money.
Seriously, they don't work very well, i've read where the glue doesn't hold many times, and that people are still seeing distortions/creases of the dent even though some of it (sometimes ) pops out. It's not always as cut- and -dried in popping out dents/dings, a lot more complicated than a single motion fully removing it.

It's good to be open minded about new things, but the feedback I see on it gives it a thumbs down. Cheers.

I see...I'll bring it to a body shop for some paintless ding removals before a car show.

First, I apologise for bring up an old post.

I've heard that some paintless dent removal places also use dry ice and magnets to "suck" the dents out of panels....is this true ?

Guitarman is right.

I bought a ding king a while ago for my BMW and it absolutely did not work as advertised. Heck it didn't even remove my smallest door ding on the flat surface.
