Will this hurt the paint???
I just had the TTE front lip installed on my car, and along the lines I can still see traces of the black glue, Now I wanted to go with a Q-tip and a cleaning solution, maybe Goo gone or somthing of that sort, but I dont want to damage my paint with any harsh chemicals, anyone know how to go about this? thanks

Goo Gone is ok, it's citrus based, and I would recommend you stay with something like that. Orange Clean also works well with glue residue.
Avoid solvents like lacquer thinner and Goof Off as they contain xylene, which has been known to cause cracking/checking down the line in SOME clearcoat resins with just a single application.
You can also try WD40 , it won't hurt the paint, but may not remove an epoxy based glue.

how many days old is the gunk??
i agree w/ guitarman (i always do!), i just wanted to add that in case goo gone or bug and tar remover isn't very effective you can slowly heat it up w/ a regular hair dryer (not a heat gun).
