Leather seat refurbish
Hello all,
I haven't posted anything before but I thought I might share my experience with everyone. I bought a 2010 RX with 59k in very good shape and I love it. The only flaw is the front drivers seat. It had a ton wrinkles and it wasn't looking great. I bought the RX at John Eagle in Dallas, I didn't even ask how much it would cost to replace/fix the seat since they aren't a Lexus dealer. So, I took it down the street to Sewell and I was quoted 1100 for A new seat and 660 for a new lower seat. So I did some research online and on YouTube. So, I first tried a hair dryer and I didn’t notice much of a difference. Second, I tried a hot wet towel. I wet the towel, hand towel size, and put in microwave for 4 minutes. Then I put in on the seat, that helped a little. So after all that I took it to the next level. I got our iron and my wet towel and ironed the hell out of the seat, with the wet towel between the seat and the iron. That helped a ton. After that I found the Scratch Wizard Web site http://scratchwizard.net/automotive-...stic-dye/lexus and I ordered the dye for a 2010 RX 350. The spray can came in a week later. So now that I had everything I need to dye the leather I took a new scotch bright pad from my kitchen and scrubbed the hell out of the seat. I covered the dash and steering wheel with an old blanket and anything else I didn’t want stained. A few coats later I have a great looking seat. It doesn’t look new but 80% better.

Looks really good buddy
I got into leather refinishing about a year ago as a hobby and the most frustrating part is making sure the product lasts.
The leather needs to be cleaned and prepped very seriously in order to get a good result.
I hope yours lasts , it looks like you did a good job.
