Automotive Clay/Detailing Clay/Overspray Clay is closer to that product that
you use to tack posters to your wall without nails...Or even Silly Puttly
It's soft, rubbery, stretchable and malleable.
Wal-Mart has begun carrying the Clay Magic Kit...A great deal.

I got my clay bar from walmart for $2. But it's not call the clay bar and it was not found in the auto detail section. My clay bar is called "hold it"
and I got it in the stationary section. Yes the stuff that you hang your poster with.
It worked amazing, the surface of the car is so smooth, un-believable, and because the bar is white you can see all the crap that it picked up. Amazing
Thanks "daddy-o" you the man.

It should...That's how many brands advertise their clay.
Just use plenty of lube.

So are you saying I can use the clay bars I get for a buck or 2 from Staples/OfficeMax etc can be used instead of the ones I from Mothers?
Also, the last time I clayed, I used up all the lubricant that came with the Mothers package but still have clay left. What can I use to lubricate my finish before claying it?

You can mix a capful, or two, of car shampoo in a pint of water for clay lube.
Adjust the shampoo/water ration to your liking. Just be careful not to use too much shampoo, as it may cause problems with the clay. It may get too slippery to hold, or become saturate with soap.
I wash my RX. I rinse my RX. I immediately rinse and refill the wash bucket with water and car shampoo.
I use my wash mitt in my left hand, and the clay bar in the right. Dip the wash mitt, swish it across a section of the paint, and clay. It goes very quickly, and the bonus is: If there's any clay residue left on the RX, I wash it off immediately with the wash mitt. I rinse again as I moved around the RX.
