Default 1st time clay bar

Finally used a clay bar, and the Mequires microfiber cloth that came with it.
I was impressed with both, sure removes lots of roughness from the paint, and the micro fiber (that I was against) does a super job of removing the lube fluid, very impressed with the clay bar treatment.

Your wax job will last a lot longer too. Plus waxing is easier after you clay bar, at least that has been my experience.

I actually love the look of my car better after I clay with quick detailer then I do with my wax. The black looks so deep, dark, and rich. I follow that up with mothers paint cleaner then top with megs ultimate wax. I only wax spring and fall because honestly I dont need to anymore then that. I maintain the look with a spray wax after each wash throughout the year. Even the detail guys at my car wash always compliment the look of my car. When I tell them its 8 years old they dont believe it.

Clay bar is one of those things where you think "holy crap where have you been all my life!"

I use nanoskin instead of clay since it's more convenient.

the meguiars clay bar kit comes with a detailing wax spray. So how exactly does this work in detailing a car? Do you wash first, then clay bar with the wax spray, then compound, then wax????

Wash - removes loose dirt and contamination
Clay Bar - removes bonded dirt and contamination
Paint Correction (if needed) - removes swirl marks and lighter scratches
Polish - enhances gloss and clarity in paint
Apply protection (wax, sealant, or nano coating) - protects paint from environmental contamination

You have to spray the stuff that comes with it and rub over it, as it acts like a lubricant, if you don't use it then the clay would just stick and do nothing. You will see when you start doing it.
