Ugly creases on my beautiful leather(((
HI everyone,

I'm upset because I was sitting in my car for 6 months and apparently damaging the leather seats in the way that I had the seat tilted. I'm 4 feet 11' so that felt the most comfortable way to drive. However, my seats have taken a beating and the car is a little over 6 months old. In the meantime, I've changed seating positions and lowered the seat all the way down as not to cause more damage. I hate to be picky but my car is fully loaded and every time I get in, it kills me to look down at the seat

I've tried cleaning it and conditioning it and even massaged the area big to get the crease out but to no avail.

Advice?

I am not sure how you positioned the seat to get those creases. Was the seat bottom tilted back to the point your legs we resting on the edge of the seat?

I normally see creases along the side boaters and bottom of the seat closer to the back rest.

Honestly? I would position your seat back to where its most comfortable to you and keep on driving. Regular cleaning/conditioning of the leather will reduce these types of things, but in the end its a car and you should use it in the way thats most comfortable for you, wear is going to happen like it or not. And thats coming from somebody thats pretty crazy about the condition of his car.

If it gets too bad you can always replace the leather on the bottom portion of the seat over time as well...

I have not found anything that would remove creases like that. Once there is a crease or crack there isn't some magic "cleaner" or "conditioner" product that will take it away.

If I had to guess, and I am no expert in this area, this would need to be corrected by an actual upholstery shop with either 1. replacing that section of the seat cover or 2. doing a temporary fix with leather putty,sanding, and dye (would not recommend this route). Option 1 would be very costly and most likely not a perfect match, and option 2 would be less costly, but will wear off quicker than the rest of the oem material and might also not be a great match in color/texture, etc.

Like Steve said, sooner or later the creases and cracks will come. Nothing you can do about it if you plan on using and driving your car. Might as well get used to it and look past it.
