1. work in the shade
2. use clean towels and applicators
3. make sure the paint is clean before you touch it

It also doesn't take more than a few minutes to completely protect your paint, so there really is no excuse... check out this thread on CarPro HydrO2.

Coating for last several years. When I want to give it an extra boost in shine, I go over the coating with a sealant. I don't use traditional waxes anymore except to do test runs on friend's cars.

I have CQuartz on my RX400h - July 4th will be 2 years. All I can say it's amazing - I applied it myself. I go through cheapest car wash and car gets out almost dry. Just bought ES300h for my wife and I already have 2 bottles of CQuartz UK waiting for good weekend to apply it on both cars.

I just helped my kid do his car.
Clay Bar took about an extra hour to complete. The car is a year old and he had never waxed it. There was a lot of crap embedded in the paint that didn't want to come out.

I tend to enjoy working on the paint care, it's my therapy.
I just posted a string on some new product I tried yesterday.
I like REJEX (been using it a while) on the wheels, It's a polymer coating and seems to keep the wheels looking nice and a bit easier to clean.
Another I've used for a while with great result is Meguiar's NXT2 wax. Goes on/off easy
The new stuff I just tried with great results:
Chemical Guy's JetSeal - polymer sealant. This requires 12 hrs to set up after application
Chemical Guy's Pete's 53 Wax - carnuba with polymers - easy wipe on/off no wait for haze.
I also clay barred the car first.
Our '16 ES350 has 15K miles on it and is just a year old. The results were great.
