Probably need to sand the area, then give it a few coats of clear. Personally, I'd let the pros do it, but maybe wait for somebody with more experience on here to chime in.
If you want it to look proper, take it to a body shop and have them give you a quote. They should be able to scuff and respray the entire piece with clear.
