Paint Repair on 2016 IS
Hey guys, I’m new to this forum! But anyways I have 2016 Lexus IS F that I just bought and it’s sad to say but I noticed a very big and deep scratch on the driver side door after I came out from the restaurant. I have a paint correction pen from the dealer but I’m scared it won’t match. Anyone know how much it could cost to repair? Also when I lightly scratch it with my finger nail I can definitely feel it. The color is atomic silver, pic below.

That looks like it went through the clear coat, you can not fix by paint correction unless its something above the surface which it does not look like since you stated that you can feel your fingernail.
Touch up paint is never 100% perfect however it will help mask the defect. I would use fine tip painting pen, the touchup pen that comes from dealer isn't too good at touching up narrow defects like the one above. Also note that touch up paint is used to prevent rust.

I just want to know where you found a 2016 ISF
Touch up paint is more or less like a bandaid... it is cheap, it covers up the scratch, and from 10 feet away you won’t notice it.
A proper repaint on a panel would likely be $500+ at most shops.

If you take your time to do a proper touchup, it won't look bad. People that don't know how to do it and rush through the process, leaving globs of paint on the car, are the ones that give touchup paint a bad rep.
