Default ppf question 17 RX450

car is being built today !!! so excited.
looking at the XPEL ULTIMATE and looking at partial hood and fenders and bumper mirrors also getting the triple beams done
Question, 18 vs 24" there is a $100 difference, is the 24 worth it ?? $700 vs 800
another option is the 3m pro4 ppf, any thoughts between the 2 ??

last, should i get it put on before delivery, or give it a once over, for rail dust, or anything else before the ppf is applied ??
Thanks so very much for the time !!

If there's any blemishes in the paint prior to PPF coverage they will always be there once the film is applied. I'd visually inspect it prior to coverage and then decide if you need to correct it. I'm picking up a new 18 GS on tuesday that already has the 3M film applied from the factory but, the factory doesn't cover the nose for whatever reason. I'm going to have my ExPel guy cover it once I get the car home. Don't know the difference between 3M & ExPel.

I'm obviously an advocate for 3M Pro, so you should go compare them for yourself - I think you'll be pretty amazed by the Pro Series film clarity.
Some 3M Pro Installers offer an optional warranty that covers paint damage, which other manufacturers don't have.
Let me know if you need a hand finding a qualified installer in your area.

24" coverage over 18" is a pretty big difference - probably worth it.

Any installer you take your vehicle to should be providing the right prep to get rid of any fallout on your paint.

Thanks.
I am in the twin cities Minnesota. 55024 area., love for a recommendation. This particular place said they are testers for 3m and don't recommend it vs the xpel. They are right down the road from my selling dealer,
The xpelplace said they remove tar and other stuff, not sure they go much further than that, clean and big stuff removed.
Thanks for the 18 24 feedback. Doesn't sound like much to us average folk. Heh. But if it is, it is.

Thanks so much for your time

My pleasure. Give Chris a try at Midwest Clear Bra.

He carries both films, so you can see the difference and judge for yourself. I am not 100% sure if he offers the optional paint guarantee, but you can certainly ask him about it.
