Default Mechanic got Grease on the headliner :-(

Good Morning,
Yesterday, I got a routine oil change on my 2015 es 350 and when I got home I noticed the mechanic had dragged his back against the post between the driver and rear door and got grease everywhere. My interior is the light tan color and the headliner is very soft, like felt. How can I clean it? I've read a few other posts that recommended Folex, does that work on grease? I'm worried about taking it anywhere, seems like every time I do, something like this happens.
Thanks!

I f you took it to the dealer just go back and complain and have them fix everything.

Folex works great but it's not magic and won't get ALL stains out. Grease especially is tricky when you get it on delicate interior surfaces.

The last place I'd want to clean that grease off would be the dealer.

Why? They screw something up, they give you a replacement.

OP screws something up, you're SOL....

Hilarious all the bad rep some dealers get. Yeah, I'd never take my car for any exterior work to a dealership, but from what I have seen, they do interior pretty damn well. Obviously depends on the place.

You're fired! That's what I'd tell that mechanic.

While I agree I wouldn't ever let them touch my paint, my Lexus dealer always went above and beyond to make sure I was happy.

On my first lexus, an IS250, one of the mirror hinges broke so the mirror would just swing to and fro while driving (relatively common issue). I took it in to show them, and while I was demonstrating how the mirror should fold up on the unbroken mirror, it broke! Right in front of the tech. He called up his boss and told him that HE broke the mirror and needed authorization to get me 2 new mirrors on their dime! Those silly mirrors were about $600... but they ordered them, installed them (while giving me a loaner), and sent me on my way for $0 charge. One of many great service experiences with my dealer.

If their mechanic did it, I would be very confident they will make it right for you.

The dealer used some wipes and they helped but left it dingy. This is the 3rd place I’ve gone and had something bad happen (air hose dragged across quarter panel, tire pressure gauge gouged a hole in the seat, now this) so maybe I just have bad luck, but I’ve lost faith in ever finding someone who does quality work and doesn’t ruin something while fixing another. Thanks for the tips, but I am still looking for an option to actually clean the headliner myself. Is there a Lexus recommended product?

Try Folex... it's cheap, you can get it at your local Home Depot. Just spray it onto the effected areas, let it dwell for a few minutes, then get a microfiber towel apply some Folex onto it and wipe the area a few times to see if it improves at all.

If that doesn't work, try agitating with a soft tampico leather brush, don't want to go aggressive with the brushing to not ruin the material.

Sometimes grease is the worst, we can do a full interior, full shampooing and extracting but those old grease stains on the carpet just never fully come out.....

+1 for Folex. I can't say enough about that product. Don't rub the stain once you spray it on there, dab it when you use folex.
