Help, how do I get this s*** off?
someone got me for my emblems, I have the new ones coming in on Monday 6/30/2003. My problem is I can't get this s*** off my car. I have tried just basic meguires quick detail and few basic cleaning products on it, but I can't even get a little piece of it to come off. Any suggestions on how to get this crap off? Thanks
Just a preview, my springs are not installed yet.

It's never going to go away completely since the emblem glue has been on your car for many, many years.
Don't waste your time trying to remove the gunk, just go ahead and install you new emblems and all should be good!

try a product called Adhe-Sol. You might find this from a pharmeceutical distributor. We use it in the hospital to remove the goo from bandages and strong sticky stuff. Commercial products like Goo-Gone may not be strong enough.
You could try Simple Green, Mequires Cleaner Wax (my personal favorite), and if worse comes to worse a fine cut rubbing compound. Don't use an emory cloth (scotchbrite, etc).
good luck,

try using a product called Kaboom which also brought that orange clean product line. Try it, and scrub, so far I've use that Kaboom on rims and works incredible, you spray and then scrub a little and the rims come out looking like brand new. Any place I've used this product the effects are unbelievable. The bottle costs a couple of bux.
Tell me if you try it, kind of curious

If you can find out the type of cement that was originally used, you than could possibly find out what solvent to use to remove the hardened cement. Maybe a Lexus dealer(parts area or body shop) could tell you this.

Nixsun79 and FrankWhite, your cars now look almost identical.
Love that color ES with the SC430 rims. I got sell my 96 and get a newer one so I can be like you guys!
Keep the pie plates! It works on the ES, but looks bad on the SC (in my opinion).
