Default Road Grime

Question.

I just wash wash my car today. Somehow I've noticed tar like substance after the front wheels around the door panels or bumpers. I tried putting pressure with the sponge. Somehow it doesn't come off.
I've thought waxing would remove it, but it doesn't. Need help.

Any suggestions?

I also have this same problem, I thought I would post also, but then I saw your post.

I think mine is tree sap, but not sure. I have tried everything, I heard that the longer it stays on your car the more of your paint it eats up. I thought maybe there is a spray or something that can get rid of it? It's like a glue substance, it sticks to anything.

I've found something. I've spoken to a few close buddies. They say get the liquid version of "BUG&TAR REMOVER" Maybe do it before washing the car or after loosening the dirt.

Likely, if it is road grime, it is petroleum based, and I would use a petroleoum based cleaner, like Goof Off or WD40

1 - hose off the areas really well
2 - apply a liberal amount of G/O to the rag
3 - rub onto surface for a few seconds with light pressure
4 - apply more G/O to a clean area of the rag
5 - repeat 2-4 until gone
6 - rewash area very very very well with soap and water
7 - REpolish and REwax area thoroughly

HTH

Yeah this stuff is about the same. I've used it before; good stuff; very similar in make up as the G/O I think. Same afterwork applies
