Works great on black... makes the paint feel soooo smooooth. Pic below after a recent claybar and wax with Klasse, it's a reflection of Dex's car off the side of mine.

Edit - Imbedded images don't appear to be working in this forum...

Nice pics, Looks great! What brand did you use?

lexforlife
Clay works well on black too, just not in the sun! I've tried a couple of brands, and the only one I've had problems with is Mequires... it seems to be much more oil based than others, and leaves more smear marks.

INHOCJP & DaveGS4 - Thanks guys!

mumbles - I use Mothers clay bar kit. Comes with a claybar, the spray, and a bottle of carnauba wax.

Yeah, after claying and waxing, the car feels new. So so smooth, no roughness at all on the paint. It was pretty easy, just spray on the detailing spray, and rub the clay over the wet areas a few times until it no longer feels rough. I usually cut the clay bar in half and save the other half. Just remember to pull and stretch the clay a few times to clean it. It's that simple!

Is there any risk that the clay bar will pick up particles from dirty surfaces and actually become abrasive on the rest of the finish?

They say if you drop it, you have to throw it out. It will pick up crap from the ground and then ruin your paint (just like you suspect). Why this doesn't occur with the contaminents in your paint, I'm just not sure.
