I use ONR. Have for years and I love it. I use Maguiars when I do a traditional wash.

I use whatever car wash I have on hand, which is currently a gallon of Turtle Wax car wash.
I do not do buckets though. I soak my microfiber wash mitt in water to soften it, wet the car down and use a spray bottle to apply a squirt of soap to each panel. It uses very little water, just enough to wet and then rinse, and very little soap. I use large microfiber towels to dry with. I have a separate mitt used only for the shiny side and another, my old mitt, for the under side, wheel wells and wheels.

Wash solution is less critical than wash method, thoroughness, and how cautious you are when drying.
When washing, the surface is lubricated; low friction; less likely to scratch the paint. When you're drying, there is little to no lubrication and is when most swirls/scratches are induced

I'm a big fan of ONR. I might be a little biased in terms of cost and use; but like jw669 says, most of the error is in drying and where you can introducing marring, scratching and etc...

I use microfiber rags, spray the car well, clean from top to bottom, try to let rag just glide over the surface and hose off and then again with microfiber towel just let it glide over the surface when drying, no hard or fast motions. No matter how careful you are you are going to get a few light scratches and swirls.

I usually use Meguiar's Gold Glass or GC Citrus Wash & Gloss or GC Honeydew Snow Foam. I'm not a huge fan of CG stuff, but their soaps are decent, especially with a foam gun.
